Charlotte is brimming with holiday celebrations for families and friends! Joyful and fun activities with the Queen City as your charming host will be sure to thrill the little ones and entertain all!

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and certainly BREAKFAST WITH SANTA is truly THE most important way to begin your holiday!

Maggiano’s Little Italy, 4400 Sharon road will have Santa as a breakfast guest on December 20th and December 22nd. Special events for the kids and a delicious chef attended buffet for all to enjoy!

Matthews Community Center is serving breakfast with Santa on December 20th. Take a photo with the big guy himself and enjoy creating holiday crafts.

For those late risers, BRUNCH with Santa might be more enjoyable. Tom Sykes Recreation Center will host a continental brunch with Santa and his sidekick elves 10:30-11:30am on December 22nd.

A more sophisticated young palate will enjoy a HOLIDAY TEA at the Ritz-Carlton on December 20th and 21st, 10:30am until 3:00pm. A special children’s tea menu will be offered.

Hanukkah will be celebrated with doughnut making and so much more at the Third Annual Chanukah Wonderland! Enjoy the fun at the Ballantyne Jewish Center on December 21st-23rd.


Christmas wouldn’t be the same without all those beautiful, twinkling lights!

Enjoy the bright lights of Christmas at a Speedway Christmas through December 30th! See more than 3 million Christmas lights while driving the track and then enjoy the infield Christmas Village.

McAdenville is a long-standing tradition amongst Charlotteans. McAdenville calls itself Christmas Town USA with holiday displays of hundreds of thousands of lights to certify its status! The amazing displays will glow nightly through December 26th.

Billy Graham Library will offer a Christmas celebration at Christmas at the Library through December 23rd. Enjoy celebrating the birth of Jesus with a live nativity, horse-drawn carriage rides, a Christmas dinner and much more!

Sports enthusiasts can enjoy the holidays with their choice of basketball, football, iceskating and hockey!

Holiday on Ice is open through January 4th and is great family fun! Located in beautiful Uptown Charlotte, the outdoor skating rink is a terrific way to enjoy the fantastic Carolina sunshine on the cool ice.

The Belk Bowl will be at Bank of America Stadium on December 30th. Charlotte will host the University of Georgia and the University of Louisville. This will be an exciting game as the Belk Bowl will, for the first time. feature a matchup between the Southeastern Conference and the Atlantic Coast Conference. Bulldog or Cardinal, this will be a great game!

December 20th, 22nd, 27th and 29th will all be opportunities for Charlotte Hornets bball action! Gather the family and enjoy the games at Time Warner Cable Arena!

On December 21st enjoy the excitement of Hockey at Time Warner Cable Arena! The Charlotte Checkers will play the San Antonio Rampage.

The Singing Christmas Tree for KIDS! Presented by Carolina Voices at Ovens Auditorium December 8, 2012 at 11am and 3pm. Starring the Grey Seal Puppets and MainStage Choir! Share the excitement of a live performance and the warmth of the holidays with your child at this special kid-friendly performance of The Singing Christmas Tree. Just an hour in length, the show is filled with puppets, dancers, music and sing-a-longs – perfect for children age 3 to 10.

iCelebra! A Bilingual Holiday Concert for Children Presented by Queens University of Charlotte, December 15, 2012. Queens hosts a celebration of culture and music presented by Criss Cross Mangosauce, a company that offers bilingual (English/Spanish) products for children. Founded by two bicultural mothers, Criss Cross Mangosqauce joins a group of seven talented musicians to bring alive holiday songs and stories. This interactive performance engages kids and adults to move and to sing.

Charlotte Symphony: Messiah Wednesday, Dec 12 7:30p at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center Scott Allen Jarrett, conducting Oratorio Singers of Charlotte The Charlotte Symphony and Oratorio Singers of Charlotte perform their annual production of Messiah.

Latke Demonstration and Challenge Presented by Atherton Mill, 2104 South Blvd, on Friday, Dec. 7th, from 10 am until 1 pm, Chef Bill Averbach, well-known as the Pickleman will be demonstrating some of the numerous techniques and recipes used to make the traditional (and not so traditional) holiday treat called latkes; potato pancakes.

Sunday December 9: Chanukah at SouthPark from 5-7 p.m. Hot Latkes, children’s performance, juggling show, plus a chance to see the Camaro prize right in the mall. Buy your ticket for the raffle and win a $100 cash prize in addition to a chance for the 2013 Camaro, dream trip to Israel and more!

Cirque Dreams Holidaze Tuesday, Dec 18, 7:30p at Levine Center: Knight Theater, Charlotte, NC Renowned director Neil Goldberg, creator of the groundbreaking Broadway hit Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy, re-imagines the holiday season.

Christmas at the Billy Graham Library features a live Nativity, horse-drawn carriage rides, light displays, caroling and more. Christmas at the Library was named one of the Top 100 Events in the US by the American Bus Association (ABA). December 1-22, Monday-Thursday 9am-9:30pm. Friday and Saturday, 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 p.m. Christmas activities begin 5:00 p.m.

Speedway Christmas and the all new Boulevard of Lights is one of the largest holiday light shows in the region. This year’s route at Charlotte Motor Speedway is over 3 miles, offering an even more spectacular in-car LED light viewing experience. attractions continuing this year will include a realistic-themed Bethlehem Village, a Festival of Trees, NASCAR souvenir rigs for Christmas shopping, marshmallow roasting pits, Santa’s workshop, photos with Santa, themed areas for children, food and music. Also, new for 2012 is the addition of the Coca-Cola Family Ice Rink, sponsored by New Life 91.9. Skating is available for all ages, whether you are a beginner or a pro, and it’s just $12 per person with skate rink.
